Imagine having done so much with a particular person,
built all the good memories you possibly could (Walking home, getting drunk,
touching, sleeping and waking up together).
However, when things begin to get worse, they don’t get
any better. (Now we're slipping near the edge, holding something we don't need).
It’s as though you’ve stuck in that worst stage in the
relationship. What do you do?
James Bay says that you let it go. You simply both agree
to end the relationship because it doesn’t seem to be working out. The more you
try to make it work out, the more you fight.
Time goes by and the constant fighting has caused you to
loose respect for each other. You’re literally bringing the worst in each other
which aren’t good. (We’re becoming something else, I think it’s time to walk
away)
The persona convinces his lover that they should let
things slide from where they are before it gets worse. (Everything that’s
broke, leave it to the breeze.)
It’s best when they both live their lives further away
from each other so that they don’t feel hurt when they see each other with
different people. (Forget about me, Come on, let it go, just let it be)
